ABOUT US

We are conveniently situated at the crossroads in the centre of Earley. It is a peaceful haven for locals to socialise and enjoy themselves. Open seven evenings a week plus Sunday lunchtime, we draw our membership from every race and every creed... or none.

At our Club, you’ll find a fully stocked bar at low, low prices. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly. We regularly run events for the entertainment of our members, including monthly quiz nights, pocket-friendly poker tournaments, race nights, live music, dances & discos etc.

We are affiliated to several local organisations, including the OLOP Table Tennis Club and the OLOP Golf Society. We have several darts teams and there is a dartboard and Bar Billiards table in our games room for members’ use. We have entertainment on at least one Saturday in the month, so the choice is yours – come in for a quiet drink with gentle background music or enjoy a knees-up at our occasional dances and discos. We welcome applications for membership from across the local community.

Entertainment

Bar

The bar is fully stocked with a range of draught ales, ciders, bottled real ales, fine wines and a full top shelf selection. It is the proud boast of our Bar Manager, Cedric, that we serve the best Guinness east of the Liffey.

We charge CLUB – not pub prices and we are amongst the cheapest in the area. Snacks - crisps, nuts and confectionery are always available.

Pub Games

We have dart boards and a Bar Billiards table for use by our members with teams playing in local leagues.

Quiz night

Quiz night is the 3rd Wednesday of the month. This is a fun evening run by our inimitable Quizmaster, Tom. At the interval we have our own Treasure Chest game, where you have the chance to win a jackpot of up to £100.

Bingo

Our regular Thursday Bingo is very popular and there are some big cash prizes to be won.

Poker Nights

We run a friendly game of Texas Hold ‘em on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month. Also, we have an internal Poker League on the 1st Tuesday of the month and an annual Poker Tournament in January. It can cost as little as £4 to play, so there’s no chance of losing your shirt.

Dances & Discos

Once a month we have some form of entertainment. This might include a soloist, comedian or group in the clubroom. Larger functions are held in the main hall with access to a side bar. Entertainment also includes race nights, skittles evenings and socials. All functions are open to members, most free of charge, others are ticket events for a modest cost. Our Annual Ball gives us the opportunity to dress up in tuxedos and posh frocks.

Rugby

If you are a rugby fan, this is for you. For every London Irish home game, we organise private transport from the Club and back. Why not have a few pints here before the game (Club prices of course), share a taxi to the game and back and finish with a drink back at the Club? This private transfer is the height of luxury. It only costs a few quid and it’s offset by cheaper drinks anyway.

Televised Events A flat screen TV is on for selected programmes. For special sporting events such as domestic and international football or rugby, we show these on our BIG screen for better impact and excitement.

BBQs and snacks

We regularly put on barbeque food and snacks when we have special events in the club.
